Making the right choice?

There are many brands of unicycle available in the market, each claiming to be better than the other. So how do as a consumer know which brand to choose from given the information clutter?

With the explosion of online discount stores, buying something over the web has become more convenient and cheaper, adding to the complexity of your decision making. http://money.usnews.com/money/blogs/my-money/2013/07/01/5-online-spending-traps-and-how-to-avoid-them .While it is generally safe to buy from online stores, there are instances in which defective goods are delivered to you with no recourse of refund and exchange. Other common issues include:

  • Product purchase is different from what has been delivered
  • Pirated products instead of the original being delivered
  • Products having reliability and safety issues
  • Warranty beyond what the factory can offer, only for sellers to back out when there is an actual claim
  • Fire hazard issues due to poor quality of battery being used
  • Brand new product cannot power up
  • Sellers wanting buyers to pay for the shipping cost for repairs even though it is under warranty
  •  Zero after sales support as the seller not contactable

Robocop unicycle?

It's been a while since we last uploaded a blog entry. Things had been happening so fast for "The Wheelies" that we have taken a back seat with regards to our blog. We sincerely apologize for the three months absence. Moving forward, we hope to have more regular updates to our blog.

We managed to try out the latest unicycle in the market, SML. SML comes with a build in handle and trolley wheels at the side. The design makes it a top candidate for daily usage for transportation. The front portion of the wheel spots a futuristic digital indicator showing the battery status and the robocop like case does gives it an edge over others in the looks department. As for the performance itself, it does feel bulky at 15 kg and the broad body means that you will find it more difficult to grip the wheels. While a bigger base means a more stable ride, it is means that you will find it hard to maneuver around, especially in crowds. While the longer mileage of 40 km and design make it an attractive proposition, I will probably stick to my trusted 小白 because I love the convenience of a lighter wheel!

Specs - Full trolley handle with side wheels
Max range - 40 km
Top speed - 18 km/h
Weight - 15 kg
Color -Full black including the portion in red in the pictures.
